The Beaumont Plant is located in Southeast Texas about 30 miles inland from the Gulf of Mexico and is about one hour drive east of Houston.  Our facility is responsible for the production of methyl mercaptan, ethyl mercaptan, dimethyl sulfide (DMS) and methylmercaptoproprionaldehyde (MMP).


Arkema Inc. is actively recruiting for a Mechanical Integrity Planner/Coordinator to support our Beaumont facility.  This position reports to the Reliability Engineering and Projects Manager and has no direct reports. 

Roles and Responsibilites Include:

  • Create comprehensive planned packages for mechanical integrity equipment (piping, vessels and infrastructure).
  • Review work notifications returned as a result of MI inspections and establish priority and create planned packages in SAP.
  • Coordination and scheduling of upcoming work while delegating work priorities to third party contractor for assistance (APIs, Ultrasonic & X-ray Technicians plus Scaffolding support).
  • Manage minor MI projects by supervising project progress, coordinating certain contractor activities, obtaining quotes, creating requisitions, scheduling outside services and materials, and receiving invoices.
  • Coordination development and maintenance of weekly schedule reports to keep all stakeholders informed on the progress of MI activities and projects. These reports will include progress, resource profiles, KPIs and variance to baseline(s) among other things.
  • Actively works with the turnaround planner, as required, to plan associated job packages and ability to utilize Primavera Project Planner (P6) for turnaround scheduling.
  • Management of work hours and other details relative to plan and incorporate learning into future work packages while participating in the continuous improvement of the MI program.
  • Oversees entries in SAP validating accuracy and correctness (i.e., group codes, equipment #, acct#) for work packages.
  • Administers list of annual equipment inspections such as hoists, boilers, backflow preventers, etc. and ensure the verifications are scheduled and completed.
  • HSE responsibilities include but are not restricted to those outlined in Leadership expectations such as reporting any incident in a timely manner.


Qualifications/Experience Required:

  • Bachelors Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Project Management with 5+ years planning/scheduling experience in a manufacturing environment OR 10+ years in the manufacturing environment with 5 of those years in planning/scheduling.
  • Able to collaborate with other support teams including management, engineering, production, maintenance and contractors to ensure successful planning, scheduling and execution. Promotes positive, cooperative, team oriented relationship with colleagues, supervisors, managers and contractors.
  • Ability to engage engineers, superintendents and contractors.
  • Ability to read and understand plans, drawings, specifications, and work orders to determine work requirement and sequence of repairs and/or installations.
  • Demonstrated ability to use good communication skills and ability to interact effectively with others to troubleshoot and resolve problems.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrates initiative, personal drive and accountability.
