The Beaumont Site is seeking a Staff Process Engineer to support their Beaumont facility.  This position reports directly to the Technology Manager and provides technical assistance for plant operations. The role requires direct interaction with other departmental managers and staff positions to exchange information and ideas directly related to the success of the Beaumont Plant and Thiochemicals Group.   This role supports full compliance of all Safety/Environmental related regulatory requirements including: OSHA, PSM, RMP and Company Policies and programs (MSM).

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

 

  • Ability to identify and  maximize operational efficiency and continuously evaluate opportunities for improvement.
  • Maintain, review and update key process knowledge for the area assigned to.
  • Support plant initiatives for new product development, process technology projects, and debottlenecking efforts.
  • Provide assistance to operations during plant turnarounds, emergency operations, and any other time technical assistance is required.
  • Establish, monitor and maintain the process engineering scope of work as well as the content and quality of the process engineering deliverables.
  • Support improvement teams in the definition, evaluation and implementation of improvement projects according to business objectives and goals.
  • Ensure that specific goals are developed that correspond with Plant objectives and initiatives.

 

Required Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in a chemical plant or manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to understand and troubleshoot chemical processing to achieve production goals
  • Good organizational and planning skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  • Good communication and presentation skills to convey interpretations of process data and recommendations for improvement
  • Demonstrated performance as a problem solver, troubleshooter, team player and innovator
