Job Title:   Quality Control Supervisor/ AIMS Coordinator

 

Situation in organization

This position reports directly to the TS&D Technical and Quality Supervisor (ISO Management Representative).

One direct report- Quality Control Lab Technician

 

Job dimensions
 

Responsible for supervising all quality control operations and for managing internal HESQ management systems (AIMS). Works closely with the plant leadership team to ensure compliance to ISO9001, ISO45001, RCMS and AIMS standards and protocols. Responsible for the maintenance of lab methods, updating of SAP parameters, specialized product testing, upkeep of analytical instrumentation, root cause analysis of quality nonconformance and continuous improvement in manufacturing processes to improve product quality.

 

Key Activities and responsibilities
 

Quality Control Supervisor (60%)

  • Supervises quality control operations and lab to ensure all raw materials and finished products are analyzed in a safe and efficient manner
  • Supports QC testing as needed in coordination with the TS&D Chemist and/or TS&D Technical and Quality Supervisor
  • Leads the investigation and resolution of all quality related nonconformance issues and customer complaints
  • Coordinates special analytical requests of Operations, Technical, R&D, sales and Marketing
  • Ensures all laboratory facilities, instruments and inventory are maintained in a safe and efficient manner
  • Inputs and maintains data in SAP and LIMS
  • Develops analytical and standard operating methodology as needed
  • Manages non-conforming product system
  • Provides assistance to the engineering and production departments during scale up.
  • Develops information as requested by internal or external customers.
  • Serves as site Chemical Hygiene Officer

 

AIMS Coordinator (40%)

  • Work closely with site leadership on all aspects of AIMS.
  • Develops understanding of AIMS requirements and performs gap analysis to these standards as needed.
  • Maintains ISO 9001, ISO 45001 and RCMS system certifications and serves as contact for all AIMS related audits.
  • Monitors the efficiency of the Quality and HES management systems by performing and coordinating internal audits at regular intervals.
  • Supports site environmental systems by working with site HES Specialist to develop supporting ISO 14001 procedures and systems.

 

Context and environment

 

  • Supports the site HES policy and complies with all regulatory and internal requirements
  • Participates in HES activities provided by site management and Arkema Inc. (e.g., Behavioral Base Safety, SafeStart, etc.)
  • Supports and promotes the reporting of all health, safety, environmental, near-miss, accident or injury incidents
  • Ensure that all incidents are reported and appropriately investigated and corrective actions implemented.
  • Ensure that all department members follow required HESQ training.
  • Demonstrate commitment to all loss control matters through high visibility and actions.
  • Supports BBS process by performing observations

 

Required Education/Qualifications /Work experience

 

 

  • B.S. in technical field
  • Experience working with ISO9001, ISO45001 and RCMS standards
  • 3-5 years of experience working in quality control lab setting
  • Supervisory experience preferred

 

Demonstrated Competencies

 

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent skills in MS Office Application Suite
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem solving ability
  • Ability to conduct cross-functional meetings with all levels of the organization
