The Account Manager for Functional Polyolefins will manage a defined sales territory between $25M and $30M in sales and will be responsible to track sales results and activity reporting to include call reports, monthly and quarter reports.  Price negotiations will also be required within a scope defined in conjunction with the Business Director.

 

Individuals will also be responsible to develop customer account relationships with purchasing, research/development and operations personnel and monitor overall market segment monitoring and projections. Identification of new opportunities, technologies and market trends is another key responsibility of the position. 

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Sales and Territory Management

  • Conduct sales calls to existing and prospective corporate purchasing and research /development personnel to review demand, handling, and use of functional polyolefin products.
  • Build and maintain strong, long lasting customer partnerships.
  • Establish and manage new sales opportunities at existing customers and new prospects. Maintain updated project list monthly for key projects and at least quarterly for all others
  • Write call reports in Sales Force, update and maintain accuracy of the information captured in this database
  • Maintain pricing current in SAP
  • Negotiate business agreements with key customers.
  • Identify and facilitate appropriate high-level contacts between the Functional Polyolefins group and customer and coordinate meetings between both parties.
  • Responsible for forecast accuracy, critical to schedule resin production at the plant locations.
  • Work with our team to control working capital cost: inventory and over dues
  • Develop and maintain a business plan for assigned territory.

 

Technical Sales Support

  • Provide first-line technical support and coordinate involvement of N.A. Business Development Manager and R&D team in France
  • Identify technical improvements to assist current customer needs, working in partnership with POF team.
  • Provide monthly progress reports, analyze results and identify positive aspects to be driven or areas for improvement/corrective action.
  • Respond to customer’s requests in regards to raw material questionnaires, confidentiality agreement and HES information
  • Participate in conferences and exhibitions to promote our product lines

 

CONTEXT AND ENVIRONMENT

  • Work in partnership with broader POF team throughout North America in a heavily matrixed work environment.
  • Travel required, up to 50% of the time.
  • Ongoing technical training and education will be a regular aspect of the role.
  • Supports the site HES policy and complies with all regulatory and internal requirements.
  • Participate in HES activities provided by site management and Arkema Inc. (Behavioral Based Safety, Safe Start, etc.)
  • Support and promote the reporting of all health, safety, environmental, near-miss, accident or injury incident.

 

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • BS degree in Business, or a technical field such as polymer science, polymer processing, material science, chemistry or chemical engineering. MBA desirable
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in outside sales
  • Prior experience in industrial segment is a plus
  • Prior experience in SAP, Excel, Sales Force is a plus
  • Experience working in an international environment preferred
