The Market and Business Analyst is responsible for the following key activities:

 

  • Data accuracy, management and reporting from SAP and Business Warehouse related to sales territory data (Volume, sales, margin), territory pricing management and administration (Rebate etc.)
  • Developing monthly sales volume, pricing and variable cost (Product family level) forecast based on market input (A/C Mgr), market conditions and historical results. Develop yearly volume, price and VC budget with the guidance of sales team and business director. Lead product portfolio mgmt. and sales leads mgmt. process to drive portfolio optimization.
  • Collaborating to develop strategic territory plan with account managers. Develop tools and dash board that would help account manager to better manage the territory. Help input CCHP, Pricing and other information to support sales team as needed. Assist sales team with territory analysis to maximize growth potential in each territory.
  • Analyzing product family based on historic data, manufacturing cost and market demand – recommend pricing strategy to gain maximum volume and optimum margin for commodity product families in the market.
  • Leading the market/customer/product research, competitive products analysis, and provide marketing support.  Develops insights from data & analysis.  Develop sales collateral based on market segmentation & product positioning strategy

 

KEY JOB ACTIVITIES

 

Data Analysis

  • Synthesize business, products and customer (territory) data into monthly summary.
  • Monthly update on territory, key national and regional distributors performance
  • Develop monthly Volume and Pricing (rebate) forecast. | Pricing guidelines and management.
  • Collaborate with finance team to develop monthly profitability analysis based on plant and other cost input.
  • Participate in S&OP process as needed. Lead and support yearly budgeting process (data management)
  • Lead business process and policy development as well as VC improvement projects with plants based on historical data analysis, market data and customer input via a/c managers.
  • Develop monthly sales data/analysis report for national distributors and key regional distributor.

 

Customer and Market Insight

  • Collaborates with Sales Account Managers and Customer Service to meet / exceed sales targets.
  • Provide input regarding customer complaint management process.
  • Lead process improvement, change in process initiatives and help implement the processes.
  • Update and maintain customer price databases via SAP providing price/volume forecasts
  • Perform duties in conjunction with company policies, Responsible Care, regulations.
  • Coordinate and communicate with Business Director regarding ongoing support activities
  • Understand total delivered cost including production and transportation cost to support pricing recommendations and portfolio management.

CONTEXT & ENVIRONMENT

  • The Market Analyst works directly with multiple levels in the organization, across business and support units, with and under the coaching and guidance of Business Director, Sheet.
  • Understand and respect guidelines of governing agencies such as UL, FDA, MIL Spec, etc.
  • Aware of potential liability issues associated with our claims of performance in end use applications. 
  • Obey corporate policies and procedures such as safety, publication review, expense reporting, pricing and competitive situations.
  • Supports the site HES policy and complies with all regulatory and internal requirements
  • Participates in HES activities provided by site management and Arkema Inc. (e.g., Behavioral Base Safety, SafeStart, etc.)
  • Supports and promotes the reporting of all health, safety, environmental, near-miss, accident or injury incidents

 

EDUCATION AND WORK REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or Engineering.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in business, supply chain, marketing or finance.
  • MBA desirable; prior experience in industrial segment in a plus.
  • Prior experience in SAP and Excel is preferred.
  • Analyst experience is required, ideally in the context of supply chain or marketing experience.
  • Good interpersonal skills, presentation skills and organization skills.
  • Strong influencing and collaborating capability to motivate and lead a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Good time management and organization skills.
  • Self-motivated, self-starter/initiator and able to work effectively in a team environment
  • Efficient at documentation of activities and data.  
  • Ability to analyze data and identify trends in the marketplace.
  • Ability to innovate and improve upon existing business practices.
  • High degree of initiative, self-starting skills and ability to handle demanding internal external timelines.
