The Technical Supply & Solutions Engineer is responsible for providing technical support for the Fluorochemicals business unit. The role provides technical expertise by establishing equipment specifications for new and existing products, for delivery systems at customer locations, and for tolling operations. 



The Technical Supply & Solutions Engineer requires interaction with different levels of contact within customer organizations and with Marketing, R&D, Plant, Supply Chain, Sales and Customer Service Personnel within Arkema.  This job can be located at Calvert City, KY (preferred) or King of Prussia, PA.



  • Support the introduction and technical support of new and existing Arkema products or technologies to targeted customers as needed.  Become subject matter expert regarding product stewardship, technical expertise, and emergency response efforts for new products introduced in the North American market. 
  • Manage communications with customers regarding technical product questions, packaging and delivery equipment.
  • In coordination with European and Asian counterparts and business management, develop and maintain specifications for packaging to meet customer needs as appropriate.  Lead efforts for packaging qualifications, supplier approvals, packaging customer complaints, and internal/external packaging quality issues.  Serve as primary liaison between Arkema and packaging suppliers.  Subject matter expert regarding DOT regulations applicable to packaging, suitability of Arkema products to package types, and proposed/implemented regulatory changes. 
  • Develop and maintain specifications for static tanks and delivery systems at customer locations in conjunction with sales and marketing to meet customer needs as appropriate.
  • Develop and maintain equipment specifications for trailer, ISO’s and railcars as appropriate. Serve as primary technical resource when purchasing/leasing bulk equipment.  Complete new equipment inspections and specification verification.  Coordinate trailer preventative maintenance, titles, and registrations and act as primary liaison for Fluorochemicals to corporate logistics for bulk transportation equipment repair/maintenance KPI’s. 
  • Develop and maintain design specifications for acceptable standards for tolling and third party packaging operations and assist in the development of global standards for third party operations for the Fluorochemical BU.  Provide technical support to all third party transloading sites, and perform periodic visits/audits of each facility to insure each continues to meet Arkema standards and expectations. 
  • Gather, summarize and communicate pertinent technical marketing intelligence collected in meetings with customers, publications such as trade magazines, Internet and in appropriate industry association meetings.
  • Assist and communicate with the plant in issues related to packaging, logistics, and first deliveries.
  • Supervise first deliveries, installation of telemetry systems and other related technical services activities at customer sites.
  • Help ensure that customers maintain proper stewardship of our products by providing specific assistance as appropriate.
  • Ensure product transportation regulations and best practices are understood and maintained.
  • Assist in the resolution of related customer complaints by using root cause analysis.
  • Provide support to supply chain activities in Latin America and Canada.



  • Increase visibility of Arkema’s technical expertise within our customer base.
  • Maintain an up-to-date understanding of market conditions and technical developments.
  • Establish technical specifications for product packaging and delivery equipment to gain competitive advantage.
  • Maintain the value added portion of our Fluorochemical sales.
  • Support corporate and group product stewardship initiatives.



  • Educational: A degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical or Chemical Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Experience and knowledge: a minimum of 5 years experience in chemicals, HVAC or related industry.
  • Interpersonal: Able to communicate easily and effectively with different types of people in different positions. Good presentation skills.  Good communication skills.  Must be able to work with minimal supervisory assistance.  Self-driven and proactive in dealing with problems and unusual situations.
