Job Dimensions

The New Business Development Manager will report to the Global Director for Liquid Resin Marketing and Development.  The position routinely interfaces directly with the other Market Development Managers, Sales Account Managers, Supply Chain and Customer Service, R&D, Technical Service and Plant Production personnel.  As required, the New Business Development Manager will travel within the Americas as a regular portion of their activity.

 

Key Activities and Responsibilities

  • Market Research and Analysis
    • Maintain an up to date consumption analysis for assigned regional markets
    • Monitor and analyze industry trends

       

  • Identify promising areas for profitable growth. Prioritize and implement growth strategy working in conjunction with other functional leaders.
  • Identify, analyze and prioritize opportunities to accelerate growth in assigned market segments.
  • Develop and implement growth strategy for prioritized areas for growth.

 

  • Development and implementation of materials and tools to promote existing and new products
    • Working together with R&D, develop promotional content for:
    • Serve as a market expert in assigned regional markets and act as a resource to sales and other functions.
    • Assist with trade show planning.
    • Participate in relevant trade shows and other promotional opportunities.

       

  • Commercial partner to R&D providing project definition, valuation and prioritization
    • Recommend focus areas for new product development.
    • Participate in market work groups (or similar joint commercial / R&D teams) as commercial representative.
    • Define, recommend and prioritize new product development projects working through the market work group (or similar) process.
    • Provide project valuation using appropriate financial models.
    • Provide commercial input to new product development teams and participate as team member where required

 

Required Education/Work Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Chemistry or Technical Field required; MBA preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of Marketing, Commercial Development or Sales experience.
  • Knowledge of coating resins markets preferred

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to tailor communications to level of audience
  • Ability to assess and resolve emergencies and to develop contingency plans under stressful situations
  • Acknowledged leadership skills with the ability to successfully interact with and influence other functions
  • Supports the site HES policy and complies with all regulatory and internal requirements
  • Participates in HES activities provided by site management and Arkema Inc. (e.g., Behavioral Base Safety, SafeStart, etc.)
  • Supports and promotes the reporting of all health, safety, environmental, near-miss, accident or injury incidents
