The Coating Resins Supply Chain Organization is responsible for developing and executing an operating plan that will meet the service expectations of the commercial functions at the lowest possible cost.  It is also responsible for developing tools and procedures to optimize the entire supply chain process from forecasting to product delivery.  The organization currently includes the Global Supply Chain Director, Supply Chain Manager, Supply Chain Supervisor and three Supply Chain Coordinator roles, two Supply Chain Specialist roles, and the Customer Service group.

Job Dimensions

 

This position is responsible for providing supply chain support for the Coating Resins business unit.   The role reports to the Coating Resins Supply Chain Supervisor and interfaces with Marketing, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Logistics, Purchasing, Sales and Customer Service Personnel within Arkema.    

Activities

 

  • Manage and execute transactions for all bulk product purchases, terminal, and tolling operations.
  • Place requisitions for specified raw materials/components.
  • Provide updates of schedules and movements to the terminals and warehouses.
  • Process invoices related to equipment storage, terminal fees, and miscellaneous freight.
  • Provide support for setup of new materials, plant, or storage locations as necessary.
  • Assist in preparing the agenda for the weekly S&OP meetings and support the monthly S&OP process.
  • Assist with physical inventory checks at warehouses, terminals, and tollers.
  • Effectively manage the inventory at the warehouses, terminals, and tollers to avoid aged inventory.
  • Assist with setting priorities, tracking shipments, and monitoring inventories to meet sales.
  • Actively identify opportunities to improve supply chain processes and work with the appropriate resources.

Context and environment

 

  • The Supply Chain Coordinator will work at 410 Gregson Drive in Cary, NC.  Periodic travel may be required to terminals, tollers, training sessions, and conferences.  Travel is expected to be <5% of the time. 
  • Coordinating multiple activities at the same time is required.  The ability to prioritize is critical.

Accountabilities

 

The Supply Chain Coordinator ensures that Arkema meets or exceeds commitments to customers through efficient and accurate management of the supply chain processes.

  • Accurately execute SAP transactions and ensure the effectiveness of supply chain meetings.
  • Assist with supply chain process set up for new program requirements.   
  • As a subject matter expert in areas of competency, provide assistance to other supply chain, customer service, and business personnel.  Contribute supply chain knowledge to support corporate initiatives

Qualifications / experience required

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business logistics, engineering, or related discipline.
  • Strong comfort level with computer systems including experience with SAP and Excel.
  • Must demonstrate strong problem solving skills, organizational skills, and the ability to work independently.
  • Good interpersonal skills are important since the position requires interfacing with multiple organizations.
