The IE&A Superintendent will manage the IE&A maintenance organization and interface with the appropriate maintenance and manufacturing groups to ensure the highest level of safety, productivity, work quality and reliability for all instrumentation, electrical and analyzer maintenance activities.



  • Oversee troubleshooting, repairs, calibration, and new installation tasks for instrumentation work assigned according to daily/weekly maintenance schedule - 50%
  • Oversee troubleshooting, repairs, switching, isolation, and new installation tasks for electrical work assigned according to daily/weekly maintenance schedule - 15%
  • Oversee troubleshooting, repairs, calibration, and new installation tasks for analyzer work assigned according to daily/weekly maintenance schedule – 15%
  • Update maintenance coordinators with job status and submit repair reports and documentation to meet ISO requirements. – 10%
  • Manage all IE&A technicians, which includes performance management, staffing, time approval, etc.  Provides contractor oversight.  – 10%
    Other Duties as Assigned:
  • Ensure repair reports are properly documented and filed in the appropriate location
  • Interface with the reliability department for long-term improvement items
  • Attend meetings (safety, maintenance planning, reliability, contractor management, and production)
  • Monitor IE&A maintenance spend and approve purchase requisitions
  • Provide weekly updates on jobs lasting more than one week
  • Participate in Root Cause Failure Analysis and Incident Investigations
  • Ensure analyzer compliance with environmental regulations including reporting and on-stream reliability
  • Perform cost analysis for repair versus replacement of equipment
  • Analyze IE&A problems when they arise and find effective solutions
  • Ensures that IE&A equipment and spare parts are ordered as needed and validate spare parts are maintained appropriately
  • Manage the quality and cost associated with IE&A work performed by outside repair shops
  • Schedule and conduct monthly meetings with the I&E and Analyzer groups
  • Publish weekly reports for management pertaining to manpower utilization, productivity, equipment repair status, project status, reliability and forecasting



  • High school diploma with minimum 10 years field maintenance experience with IE&A
  • Instrument or Electrical Technical degree / Certification preferred
  • Computer skills required
  • Familiarization with NEC and NFPA 70E
  • Knowledgeable in motor control systems
  • Knowledgeable in all types of industrial instrumentation and process control loop systems
  • Basic knowledge of inline process and environmental analyzers and their functions
  • Skilled in interpreting electrical diagrams/schematics and loop drawings
  • Skilled in Instrument, Electrical and Analyzer terminologies and maintenance processes
  • Knowledgeable in transformer maintenance and troubleshooting process
  • Knowledgeable with substation maintenance and isolation processes
  • Knowledgeable in troubleshooting of electrical control circuitry and distribution systems
