The Business Applications Engineer - Dental will support the application/business development efforts for 3D dental applications. This position requires a creative, hands-on and self-directed individual with the ability to adapt their engineering / material science knowledge to the field of dental assembly.

 

KEY ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Business Development - 3D Dental 

  • Identify market application potential
  • Leads technical development
  • Product use knowledge
  • Works with the R&D team to develop new technologies and formulations to adapt our current products to new applications for 3D Dental Market.
  • Work with Product Development, Sales and Marketing personnel to develop and replicate high impact applications for Dental.
  • Build competitive value propositions for effective new product commercialization.
  • Provide launch support for new product programs by generating supporting documentation, demonstration tools, videos and training materials.
  • Develops analytical strategies and executes action plans for Dental industry.

 

Leads Technical - 3D Dental 

  • Exhibits a deep understanding of the 3D Dental market technical requirements and solutions.
  • As a subject matter expert applies fundamental knowledge to relate how process and material characteristics influence performance properties on the finished products.
  • Identify and quantify product improvement opportunities.
  • Plan industrial trials to produce new materials.
  • Establish material formulation and control plan.
  • Identify the best 3D Sartomer solution for an application by thoroughly understanding the customer need, testing and analyzing results.
  • Understand and apply regulatory and compliance requirements.
  • Build a deep understanding of customer needs and competition in Dental market focused areas and provide “Voice of Customer” (VOC), new product ideas and competitive analysis.
  • Diagnose customer application issues and help solve in an expeditious manner.
  • Reports to BU business management both verbally and in technical reports and presentations
  • Captures and shares results of work in an organized manner to systematically move research forward in a coordinated effort.
  • Actively reviews the IP space for relevant projects to identify opportunities.
  • Works with management and legal to secure IP property as required.

 

End User Partnerships and Promotion - 3D Dental

  • Provide hands on customer training to demonstrate proper application techniques and performance advantage of products, including optimization of customer processes.
  • Build strategic alliances with target customers to expedite product development and commercialization. Communicate results to customers through written reports and presentations.
  • Publishes articles and promotes Sartomer at industry events
  • Identifies end users to build partnerships
  • Leads technical development activities
  • Presents at conferences and/or conventions as a subject matter expert
  • Have competency of taking incoming technical requests for immediate response to end users or customers requesting recommendations or general technical assistance.
  • Serves as a subject matter expert by providing guidance to various groups such as R&D, Sales, Technical Service, Business Development, Marketing

 

Travel: May include up to 30% domestic/international

 

REQUIRED EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS/WORK EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science or related discipline from an accredited university. MS preferred
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience working in the dental industry
  • Microsoft Office proficient, specifically with Power Point, Excel and other computer communication programs.
