This position reports to the Senior Manager, HR, Sartomer, with a dotted line to the Sr Director, HR & Talent Management.

 

Responsible for implementing sound Human Resources programs and practices for the Sartomer business at the Exton, PA, facility as well as the Thio business based in King of Prussia, PA, including, but not limited to: talent acquisition, employee relations, training and development, performance management, compensation and benefits.

 

Utilize knowledge of functional/business objectives as well as functional HR knowledge to influence, support and advise local Managers on HR-related issues, including policies, processes and programs to help meet business goals and objectives.

Key Activities and Responsibilities

HR Business Partner for Client Groups (45%)

  • Establish personal credibility, build and maintain trusted partnerships with leaders and employees
  • Develop and maintain human resources programs and procedures linked to client groups’ strategies with direction  from Sr Manager, HR or Sr Director
  • Partner with Managers of client groups to identify hiring needs and then partner with member of Arkema’s Talent Acquisition team to determine process to fill vacancies. Participate in the interviewing and selection process to facilitate selection of best qualified candidates through a fair and legally defensible process
  • Lead talent acquisition, on-boarding, development, promotion and departure processes with client groups
  • Implement actions or projects for greater/cost effective workforce planning and management, succession planning as well as employee development and engagement with  direction from Manager
  • Maintain and communicate HR metrics to client groups, including talent acquisition, turnover, promotions, transfers, terminations and performance appraisals
  • Facilitate change effectively by first understanding the business need(s) for change, its impact on people and then develop a plan to introduce and drive the necessary changes in consultation with Manager(s)
  • Foster an environment that encourages and rewards continuous individual growth and delivery of results

 

Implement/Execute Core HR Processes (40%)

  • Partner closely with Senior Manager, HR, Sartomer, Sr Director, HR & Talent Management./teams, other HR Business Partners and HR COEs (Centers Of Excellence) to put in place proper process and delivery
  • Implement HR programs, policies, practices and tools locally, including the Performance Management Process, Talent Review Process, Employee Safety and Engagement Survey and follow-up action plans, Reward & Recognition program, Job (re)evaluations and other compensation-related practices
  • Lead or contribute to special projects inside and outside of the HR&C function, on an as needed basis, to continuously improve HR practices, processes and data management
  • Assess, monitor and address employee questions and concerns
  • Ensure accuracy of employee data in HRIS (SAP) by performing periodic audits and making any necessary changes 

 

Compliance (15%)

  • Ensure awareness and compliance with HR policies within client groups
  • Provide counsel to leaders and managers on employee relations issues, including, but not limited to: corrective action, conflict resolution, harassment issues, etc., utilizing Legal resource(s), when appropriate, to investigate and resolve issues in a prompt and fair manner, minimizing legal risk to Arkema and individual leaders. Partner closely with other HR leadership/teams and HR COEs (Centers Of Excellence) for proper process and delivery
  • Stay current on US regulations to ensure compliance and timely implementation of new/changes to regulations

 

Context and Environment

  • This position will have offices at both the Exton, PA, facility for the Sartomer business and in King Of Prussia with the Thio business. Expectations are that this position will split time evenly between the two locations
  • Travel for this position is expected to be 10-15%
  • Maintain composure, build rapport and trust, exercise good judgment and utilize analytical skills
  • Operate with a sense of urgency and be proactive in addressing HR issues
  • Support site HES policy and comply with all regulatory and internal requirements
  • Participate in HES activities provided by site management and Arkema Inc. (e.g., Behavioral Base Safety, SafeStart, etc.)
  • Support, promote and report all health, safety, environmental, near-miss, accident or injury incidents

 

Required Education/Qualifications/Work Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) is required, Master’s Degree is preferred
  • 3+ years of HR experience as an HR Business Partner for multiple functional areas
  • Knowledge of HR-related legal/compliance issues
  • Effective influencing skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as a part of a diverse team
  • Effective written and verbal communicator in both individual and group discussions
  • Ability to effectively function in a matrix environment
  • Experience successfully coaching and mentoring others
  • Analytical skills and experience with analytics/KPIs/metrics
  • Project management, time management and organizational skills
  • Track record of success in implementing HR solutions
  • Experience implementing core HR processes and working with HR systems; knowledge of SAP and SuccessFactors is preferred
  • Experience in the manufacturing industry preferred
  • Experience or exposure in dealing with other cultures
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office
