<span style="font-family: "Arial",sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;">Responsible for all functions of personnel and operations management related to day to day staffing and production issues of a chemical manufacturing facility.

  • Ensures employees work safely by conducting safety inspections and adhere to safety regulations and procedures.
  • Directs supervision of production employees; motivates workforce for high productivity.
  • Responsible for efficient use of manpower and scheduling of OT as needed to minimize costs
  • Ensures employees remain up to date on all training requirements
  • Refers issues related to employee activity/behavior based on plant rules and policies to management.
  • Abides by terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement; properly responds to grievances.
  • Acts as primary point of contact between the technical department and assigned process buildings.
  • Able to use knowledge of processes and other resources to make decisions regarding the safety of plant resources
  • Performs Accident/Incident investigations and entry of incident information into Impact database
  • Ensures employees attend all required Safety meetings
  • Maintain accurate and up to date information on OAU and downtime.
  • Oversee cycle counts of finished goods as requested
  • Answers React calls to provide product information for trouble-shooting of off-site incidents related to products.
  • Maintains accurate KRONOS information for payroll
  • Provides weekend, vacation, and other absence coverage as necessary.
  • Leads weekly shift tool box meetings
  • Acts as PEO coordinator during plant emergencies
  • Supports BBS process by performing observations and encourages employees to participate in BBS
  • Supports Loss Control policy, AIMS, ISO 9001 and OHSAS 18001 management systems.

Qualifications/Experience Required:

  • Associates degree preferred
  • Minimum 5 years supervisory experience in chemical manufacturing or 5 years a chemical operator
  • Good working knowledge of plant processes and batch operations
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Intermediate skills in MS office;  working knowledge of SAP preferred
