<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman",serif; font-size: 11pt; font-variant: small-caps; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-fareast-language: EN-US; mso-bidi-language: AR-SA;">Job dimensions: Core responsibilities are in Operations Department. Role is responsible for coordinating work between other groups and operations. Responsible for completing HES task and responsibilities. Responsible for complying with all AIMS, HESQ policies & practices including ISO-9001/14001, OHSAS-18001 and RCMS.  This includes compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements. For example, OSHA, EPA, TCEQ, DOT, etc.

Key Activities and responsibilities:

  • Day Shift Support Activities (60%)
    • Manages the daily and project work schedules to align with production and reliability requirements and PM Compliance by interfacing with all departments.
    • Responsible for operations supplies inventory by conducting weekly inventory audits and adjusting inventories in SAP as required.
    • Reports the progress of the work performed each day to the scheduler before the daily update meeting.
    • Manages the progress of priority work orders and communicates daily status to the key stakeholders.
    • Field verifies completed work & drives the RTO process.
    • Participate in Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) and Incident Investigations.
    • Communicate to Operations the schedule and night orders for task to be performed for the next day.
    • Value assess SAP Notifications and ensure completion prior to creating work order.
    • Manages daily work order backlog.
  • HES support Tasks (20%)
  • Perform weekly and monthly checks of safety and environmental equipment and areas. This includes but not limited to: fire extinguishers, safety showers, SCBA/EBAs, dikes, tanks, waste storage areas, digester, stormwater discharge points, etc. 
  • Conduct daily SWP work activities to ensure compliance with procedure and permit requirements. Assist with annual review of LOTO and Confined Space permitting processes. 
  • Assist with waste shipments and manifests which may require operation of a forklift. 
  • Process Operator Based tasks (20%)
    • Maintain Certification in trained units via completion of recertification program.
    • Assist plant in start-up, shut-down, product turnarounds as needed.
    • Complete tasks of unit operator as needed based on plant needs.

Context and environment

  • Supports the site HES policy and complies with all regulatory and internal requirements
  • Participates in HES activities provided by site management and Arkema Inc. (e.g., Behavioral Base Safety, SafeStart, etc.)
  • Supports and promotes the reporting of all health, safety, environmental, near-miss, accident or injury incidents.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to meet the plant’s needs.
  • Position will work a 4 day/10 hour schedule.

Required Education/Qualifications /Work experience

  • Qualified on two or more units. (3 or more units desired)
  • Experienced with all aspects of startups, shutdowns, turnarounds and emergencies of one or more units.  Including the writing of safety permits on units.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Verbal and written communications skills required for effective interfacing.
  • Fire Brigade qualified.
  • Forklift certified or ability to be trained.

Computer knowledge and ability to use the site’s computer processes: Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point, SharePoint, & SAP.
