Based at Arkema's Corporate Offices and R&D Center, the Account Manager is responsible for direct sales to existing and new customers for Arkema’s Specialty Polyamide (SPA) products in the Health (Medical), Beauty (Cosmetics) and Industry markets.  He/she will be responsible for identifying new potential downstream users for existing products and new applications for the Health, Beauty and Industry markets


Specific job activities include (but are not limited to):

  • Direct management of a core set of key distributors [Today: Foster, PolyOne and Vantage], including day to day sales activity, but also product training and spurring development activity through these distributors.
  • Frequent telephone contact and a rolling schedule of physical customer and end user visits.
  • Regularly interact with our global business management and technical teams.
  • Maintain dynamic forecasts in Picaso as well as oversight of longer term demand.
  • Responsible for identifying new potential downstream users for existing products – then making cold calls, first visits, follow up engagements (and deployment of technical resources if necessary).
  • Attend and manage tradeshow activities and remain engaged in all relevant industry working groups.
  • Implement pricing policies to ensure harmonized margins and customer level profitability.


Business travel (primarily domestic) is expected to be approximately 30%.



  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science, Materials Engineer or related technical field is required; MBA is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of Marketing / Brand / Strategic Management, Field Sales, and/or Technical Development in Polymers.
  • Minimum of 5 years of direct exposure/experience with specialty technical polymer markets.• High level of written and oral (including presentation) competency.  Ability to effectively represent Arkema in front of end market, including customer or end user targeted events.
  • Excellent interpersonal, listening, communication and negotiating skills.
  • Ability to concurrently support and/or manage multiple and complex projects in a fast paced and competitive environment.
  • Detail oriented, with excellent prioritization and follow-up.
  • Efficient with computer and communication tools (ERPs, CRMs, standard software (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.))
  • Cultural awareness and willingness to travel globally.
