Reporting to the Finance Manager, CASG, the Accountant, Rotational Development, will work and be trained in all areas, both technical SAP system use and accounting/analysis, in order to support various areas in the Finance organization and prepare for future growth within Arkema.  This will include both plant accounting operations as well as general business accounting exposure.   It will also include exposure to the technical system aspects of the various modules of our SAP system.
This role is a developmental role with expected mobility to other accounting/finance departments and/or business unit finance over the course of 2 to 5 years, including possible future rotation to accounting/finance international experience with Arkema’s global HQ in France. 


CAS Team Core Activities 

  • Perform as a member of the Cost and Accounting Support Team (CASTeam), with development towards Operations and/or Corporate Accounting.
  • Active participation in our core training activities to include:  CASG training and Operations Accounting new hire training with an initial focus on Plant Production Accounting
  • Active participation in reviewing current processes, accounting activities and identifying enhancement opportunities

ARKEMA INC. Systems and Process Structure

  • Develop a solid understanding of our Arkema Inc. systems, organization structure, accounting procedures and related business processes
  • Participation in cross functional teams and additional projects, as assigned by the department manager and coordinated with Operations Accounting.

Operational, Compliance and Reporting Activities 

  • Support the Arkema Inc. month end financial close process, annual budget process and year-end accounting activities
  • Complete internal and external compliance controls
  • Monthly Inventory reconciliation
  • Sarbanes Oxley Compliance Requirements
  • Inventory value analysis
  • LIFO Inventory
  • MFG. vs Resale Tax Analysis
  • External audit inventory related requests
  • Finance/Operations Accounting – Reporting and Analysis
  • Accrued payables
  • Freight accruals
  • Net Realizable Value
  • Profit in Inventory
  • Assist in the maintenance of our SAP and Business process documentation
  • Maintain issues reference log

Operations Accounting Support 

  • Provide support to any CASG or Accounting team vacancies and needs that may arise

May serve as member of project teams


  • Little to no overnight travel anticipated, other than annual training/meeting with operations accounting team.  Future travel for mobility to other departments and BUs, possibly international, may arise after 1 to 2.5 years in initial role.
  • Supports the site HES policy and complies with all regulatory and internal requirements
  • Participates in HES activities provided by site management and Arkema Inc. (e.g., Behavioral Base Safety, SafeStart, etc.)
  • Supports and promotes the reporting health, safety, environmental, near-miss, accident or injury incidents
  • Future geographical mobility required


  • BS in Accounting/Finance, MBA or Masters in Accounting a plus.  CPA track preferred.
  • 0 - 2 Years of Accounting/Finance Experience
  • Strong technical accounting education with basic to general accounting knowledge; manufacturing a plus
  • Ability to deliver basic and repetitive reports with supervisor guidance
  • Basic to Intermediate Excel skills
  • Future geographical mobility required
