The Maintenance Technician reports directly to the Maintenance Manager at the King of Prussia, PA site.




The Maintenance Technician utilizes a mixture of technical skills to support the sites maintenance program. Individual should be well rounded with general knowledge of multiple trades, able to work on a variety of equipment. Background in Industrial HVAC/plumbing and or electrical would be preferred to fill this position. Work will include completing maintenance repairs, equipment servicing, Preventive maintenance inspections and installs of building operation systems. This position interacts will all other personnel within the department as well as internal customers across the site.



  • Utilize technical skills to troubleshoot and repair malfunctioning equipment, including HVAC equipment. Directions are given through verbal communication or work order system.
  • Supervise HVAC, BAS & fume hood contractors which will include coordinate service work, PM’s, track maintenance records, distribute necessary safe work permits and monitor safe work practices.  Ensure all contracted work is completed up to contracted agreement with a minimum of disruption to the site. Work is conducted with level of quality and effort comparable to internal levels of housekeeping, safety, ergonomics, and site safety.
  • Perform preventive maintenance work such as air handlers, chillers, exhaust fans, drive belt replacement, equipment lubrication, equipment inspections, adjust, clean, calibrate to assure proper operation.
  • Repairs wiring and electronic components associated with automatic building management systems.
  • Responds to emergency service requests, building temperature issues and R&D hood flow issues.
  • Interface with internal customers to assist in project definition and satisfaction of customer
  • Assists other technicians and department staff.
  • Prepares records and reports describing procedures, actions taken and recommended solutions.
  • Prepares and submits requests for supplies and equipment.
  • Monitor and utilize HVAC building automation systems.
  • Complete MSM area and equipment inspections at identified intervals.
  • Responsible for Siemens fire panel and related activities, including fire system contractors.



  • Supports the site HES policy and complies with all regulatory and internal requirements
  • Participates in HES activities provided by site management and Arkema Inc. (e.g., Behavioral Base Safety,
  • SafeStart, etc.)
  • Supports and promotes the reporting of all health, safety, environmental, near-miss, accident or injury
  • incidents 
  • Ability to work under general supervision and in team environment.
  • Demonstration of ability to successfully complete a task safely and to level of completeness and correctness required of the job.
  • Demonstration of supervisory skills.
  • Some afterhours call in’s and overtime required.



  • High School and Technical Trades course completion.
  • Demonstration of electrical skills and knowledge of NEC and NFPA-70E guidelines
  • Basic understanding of  HVAC steam systems.
  • Ability to monitor and adjust Niagara & Continuum building automation systems
