Corporate iTEAM (IT team): IT Manager, Supply Chain Applications

Location:  King of Prussia, PA


  • Reports to Director, Business Information Applications
  • Other positions at this level include Manager across all iTeam groups, including 3 other Application Managers
  • This position supervises 8 internal IT professionals:  1 Sr. Technical Consultant, 1 Technical Consultant, 2 Project Leaders, 3 Senior Analysts and 1 Analyst.  Staff is augmented with external consultants for project and/or support roles.


  • As Manager Supply Chain Applications, this position manages the IT scope of business driven or technical activities, using leadership, talent management, project management, functional and/or technical expertise. 
  • Activities may include small to large application enhancements, new application implementations, integration with other applications/services, acquisitions, divestitures, ongoing business change, upgrades, etc.
  • Teams managed may include internal IT resources, contractors, managed services and/or software vendor resources.  Teams partner and collaborate with business process owners.
  • Application environment includes on premise, SAAS and hosted.
  • SAP Supply Chain applications enable processes for Quote to Cash, Procure to Pay, Demand Planning and Scheduling, Production, Logistics Execution, and BI/Analytics.  SAP Supply Chain integrates with transportation, e-business, production planning, other third party tools plus other SAP modules to deliver end to end processes.  
  • This position manages support activities that can impact over 2000 users for multiple processes and systems, SAP and non-SAP systems, plus integration with other applications and external partners in the Supply Chain domain. 
  • This position manages expertise in SAP SD, LE, PP, WM, GTS, and BW
  • Non-SAP supply chain applications and services supported include transportation mgt., production scheduling/planning, B2B/EDI middleware.
  • This position manages global Supply Chain application topics and shares support of global Supply Chain applications as required. 
  • This position manages vendor relationships and customer relationships.


Manage Enhancements and Projects

  • Position manages major enhancement projects with technical expertise and resources.
  • Manage regional contributions to global projects and applications.  Ensure global support process is developed and communicated.
  • Plans and prioritizes enhancement work and assignments within own organization, with clients, with business process owners, with vendors, and related integration across IT organizations
  • System enhancements include requirements definition via user interviews, research, specifications documentation and matching functionality with business needs, technical design, configuration, testing and documentation.
  • Manage Supply Chain application, data and integration activities for ongoing business change including acquisition, divestiture projects.
  • Contribute to application and/or vendor evaluations and strategies, with IT and procurement.  Manage components of RFI/RFP process and consult on vendor contract development.
  • Ensures system design aligns with business process design. May manage training development and execution.
  • Manage requirements gathering and analysis of systems issues and definition of solution alternatives.
  • Manage directly or oversee project leaders, to implement small through large projects.
  • Facilitate business process design and has responsibility for technical process designs
  • Responsible for risk analysis and management during project lifecycle
  • Consult with business process owners, management, and other IT departments on various areas of expertise
  • Manage vendor relationships as part of projects:  software, consulting
  • Responsible for project specific supplier, contract and budget management

Manage Application Support and Maintenance

  • Ensure execution of primary and second level support activities, including ongoing/routine business modifications, maintenance, and small requests for system enhancements. 
  • Support includes problem analysis, solution and prevention, programming, configuration, testing and documentation. 
  • Decides solutions that ensure problem resolution.
  • Maintenance includes upgrading, enhancing, and/or streamlining the technical functions of a system or integration stream.
  • Manages integration of SAP Supply Chain modules/functions with other SAP and non-SAP systems, regionally and globally. 
  • Contributes to application lifecycle strategies and manages to current application lifecycle
  • Manages application licenses.
  • Responsible for system upgrades in line with the application life cycle.

Contribute to iTeam - Corporate Processes and Talent Management/Development

  • Develop talent via mentoring, coaching, cross training, assignments, formal education, and mobility. 
  • Manage annual performance management process for direct reports:  goal setting, performance reviews
  • Contribute to business relationship management process; collaborate on priority setting and resource management with process owners and department heads.
  • Lead, contribute and/or promote continuous improvement initiatives in IT and/or company. 
  • Contribute to managing vendor relationships, identifying/resolving issues, facilitating contract renewals
  • Oversee day-to-day managed services support process
  • Contribute to development of applications and vendor strategies
  • Contribute to annual budget process.


  • Travel dependent on project, enhancement or support activities; typically less than 10%.
  • Observes confidentiality and regulatory policies. 
  • Periodically will be responsible for project, enhancement or support activities outside of normal working hours.
  • Follows and enforces internal IT policies and standards such as:  user support process, promote-to­ production process, development and testing practices, security policies, documentation standards and communication practices.
  • Follows internal IT project management methodologies and uses selected tools.
  • Supports the company accounting policy in design and implementation of IT solutions. 
  • Supports the site HES policy and complies with all regulatory and internal requirements
  • Participates in HES activities provided by site management and Arkema Inc. (e.g., Behavioral Base Safety, SafeStart, etc.)
  • Supports and promotes the reporting of all health, safety, environmental, near-miss, accident or injury incidents


  • Bachelor Degree required.  Master’s Degree, a plus.
  • Knowledge of accounting or finance is strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in applying systems solution to business needs, including leading IT projects and teams to successful completion through consultation, and by applying appropriate project management skills/methodology and technical/business/professional knowledge
  • 2+ years of experience directly managing three or more people in an IT applications department.
  • Minimum of 3 years project management experience, including large projects.  Including the ability to collaborate with and advise business partners and management with respect to project scope, planning, costs and resources to deliver on project goals.
  • Proficiency in technical/business/professional aspects of systems/applications/tools, including SAP.
  • Experience with SAAS and Managed Services.
  • Knowledge and/or experience in some of the following SAP Supply Chain modules:  SD, LE, MM, PP, WM, GTS, BW as well as integration experience with non-SAP applications and integration with other SAP modules.
  • Knowledge and/or experience with various SAP tools to deliver functionality and integration including:  IMG/Configuration, ABAP, SmartForms, RFC, ALE, IDOC, ALV, LSMW, etc. as well as PC office tools, application reporting tools and customization tools.
