The Senior Tax Accountant reports directly to the Tax Director, with indirect reporting to the Tax Manager on various projects and tax work.


The Senior Tax Accountant is responsible for:

  • 9 legal entities for IRS federal tax reporting purposes, in accordance with corporate tax department’s internal guidelines, and responsible for assigned consolidated schedules and federal tax forms;
  • 40-45 state income tax return reporting requirements and payments, as well as sales and use tax;
  • Managing the overall property tax function with outside consultants; 
  • Calculating IAS12 and ASC740 income taxes for assigned federal entities in accordance with department’s reporting models;
  • Managing assigned state audits including income, franchise, and sales & use; and
  • Gathering data and preparing transfer pricing calculations.

This position operates under minimal supervision in sales/use tax, property tax, federal, state, and local income and franchise taxes, including tax audits, and under moderate supervision in more complicated area or special projects.   


  • Prepares all required state income, franchise, and local tax returns, including estimates and extensions. Prepares all required state sales tax filings.
  • Prepares federal tax returns in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Completes monthly and year-end tax provision and reporting packages while reconciling all tax accounts maintained throughout the tax year.
  • Manages all property tax filings handled by outside consultant.  Reviews property tax filings and reports any issues.  Monitors and prepares property tax payments.  Ensures all work of consultant is done timely. 
  • Gathers needed information and appropriate documentation for assigned state audits while responding to governmental tax audit questions in a professional, accurate, and timely manner.
  • Accumulates data and computes transfer pricing calculations in coordination with WW tax department.
  • Handles all other tax assignments, including reviewing specified calculations of Tax Accountants.
  • Participates in other tax projects as requested by tax leadership


  • Little to no travel expected, with exception of a conference or team meeting, where required.
  • Requires work time beyond normal work hours to meet tax deadlines or other project driven deadlines
  • Supports the site HES policy and complies with all regulatory and internal requirements
  • Participates in HES activities provided by site management and Arkema Inc. (e.g., Behavioral Base Safety, SafeStart, etc.)
  • Supports and promotes the reporting of all health, safety, environmental, near-miss, accident or injury incidents


  • BS/BA in Accounting or Finance. 
  • CPA or CPA track a plus
  • Required minimum of 4 years’ of progressively responsible tax experience, including income/franchise, sales/use, and property tax or 3 years of experience in public accounting tax role, preferably in a large national firm (Big 4 or other large national firm).
  • Moderate experience with SAP preferred
  • Proficient Excel skills
  • Proficient with self-review of tax preparation. 
  • Experience reviewing work of consultants or others a plus.
