Position reports functionally to the group Global Supply Chain Director (France) and locally to the General Manager, Functional Additives Americas.  The Supply Chain Manager, Americas position has 4 direct reports and 4 second level reports; Direct reports: 1 SOPE Manager, 1 S&OP Manager, 1 Customer Service Team Lead, 1 Supply Chain Analyst.  Indirect reports:  3 Account Specialists and 1 Rotating Customer Service Representative.  Over the next 6 to 12 months, this position will have additional reports including a logistics coordinator (KOP – 2nd level report) and production planning with direct supply chain resources at all US and Mexico plant sites, along with supply chain oversight of Brazil.


  • The Supply Chain Manager, Americas, is responsible to set and ensure the execution of strategy for the Arkema Inc. Functional Additives Americas supply chain activities.  The position has direct responsibility for the Sales and Operations planning process and domestic and international Customer Service activities that ensures operating and resource plans are available to support the BU Service Offer (sales plans and service expectations) at the lowest cost.  This plan must be integrated with the global plans of the Functional Additives Business Unit and the Functional Additives Supply Chain Organization, which is responsible for developing and executing an operating plan that will meet the service expectations of the commercial functions at the lowest possible cost and for developing tools and procedures to optimize the entire supply chain process from forecasting to product delivery.  This position provides functional leadership to supply chain activities and processes for the US, Canada, Mexico and Latin America (Brazil, Central/South America)
  • The Supply Chain Manager provides expertise in all elements of an integrated supply chain and is responsible for developing the long term logistics strategy and managing the logistics execution to support the BU Service Offer with “Safety” as the main objective.  The executed plan will accommodate the service expectations at the lowest possible cost



Leads the supply chain operations for Functional Additives plants, tolling operations, and import of product, including:

  • Develop the regional supply chain vision and strategy for the Functional Additives Business Unit
  • Provide expertise in the development and execution of an integrated supply chain strategy for the BU and provide effective management to a team of fifteen professionals in the delivery of integrated supply chain services to the NA operations
  • Lead the operational and administrative functions of the Supply Chain team to achieve streamlined, highly efficient production and inventory planning and customer fulfillment management
  • Lead the SOPE process by managing the following activities:
    • Convert regional sales forecasts to a supply plan to maximize customer service and optimize production, distribution, and working capital expenses
    • Partner with manufacturing and tolling sites to improve production scheduling and raw material procurement
    • Resolve supply/demand mismatches and employ optimal alternatives
    • Optimize plant, warehouse, and customer consigned inventory by setting stock levels based on BU rules to serve
    • Oversee the logistics strategy and execution for OTR transportation, cold temperature fleet management, inter-plant transfers, reefer fleet management
    • Maintain inventory accuracy by ensuring that inventory reconciliation is done in accordance to corporate guidelines  
    • Provide SAP expertise to support new initiatives and implementations as well as existing processes
  • Optimize supply chain processes and lead continuous improvement in integrated supply chain initiatives
  • Contribute to overall business unit leadership and provide functional leadership to the US, Canada, Mexico and Latin America (Brazil, Central/South America)

Execution management and Supply Chain performance, including:

  • Manage the supply/demand process:
    • Assess the accuracy of the forecast by customer, marketing family, product, SKU
    • Develop and track appropriate metrics to drive results and continuous improvement
    • Champion changes to the business or forecast strategy as appropriate
    • Evaluate capacity parameters to assess our manufacturing capabilities to meet demand projections
    • Secures raw material supply with assistance of purchasing teams
    • Champion opportunities to improve supply capabilities as appropriate
    • Champion (raw material, intermediate, and finished good) inventory accuracy and loss management
    • Develop tolling plan to meet demand projections at lowest possible cost
    • Identify key issues and imbalances and work with the appropriate business leaders to resolve.  This can be related to production capacity, logistics equipment or carrier availability, sales deviations, raw material supply issues, etc. 
    • Reports performance to Global Supply Chain Manager; identifying gaps and outlining corrective actions
    • Proactively manage working capital to meet or exceed financial targets of the division through control of inventory levels, product quality, and freight / logistics costs vs. net sales
    • Develop business cases for changes in supply chain operations.  Includes, but not limited to: debottlenecking, staffing, equipment purchases/releases, lease arrangements, changes in distribution network, etc.
  • Manage the logistics execution plan:
    • Evaluate the transportation data against the defined logistics strategy
    • Ensures domestic and export transportation is strictly in line with safety and security regulations
    • Develop and track appropriate metrics to drive results and continuous improvement
    • Champion opportunities to improve the logistics strategy as appropriate
    • Governs the REACTS process

Leads Supply Chain initiatives/projects to support business and process improvement:

  • Serves as the gate-keeper for new product development or business initiatives
  • Partners with the business for scale-up and commercialization of new products
  • Contributes to the BU Service Offer definition, implementation and monitoring
  • Identifies and manages swaps and trading
  • Leads new flows implementation
  • Provide SAP expertise to support new initiatives & implementations, as well as existing processes

Talent Management and Development of team:

  • Directly manages and drives all talent management activities for BU regional supply chain team (including customer service).  Functionally manages and drives talent management activities for supply chain teams at plant sites in the US, Mexico and South America (Brazil).
  • Attracts, develops and retains talent at BU and all sites in alignment with the organizational strategy and needs of the business
  • Develop talent via cross training, assignments, formal education, and mobility 
  • Foster teamwork via group initiatives, management meetings, communications and cross functional assignments
  • Champion and lead change to support the evolution of talent


This position is based in King of Prussia, PA with less than 20% travel expected (regional and global).

  • This position is a focal point for the business and manufacturing, and works as a liaison between Global Supply Chain, Business Managers, Customer Service, Manufacturing, Logistics, Purchasing, Finance, Marketing, Regulatory, IT, Third Party terminals, warehouses, suppliers, competitors and carriers, etc. to optimize all aspects of the regional supply chain
  • This position leads necessary activities to ensure the operating plans can be executed and meet the commercial demands, and lead activities to resolve problems that do occur
  • Supports the site HES policy and comply with all regulatory and internal requirements
  • Participates in HES activities provided by site management and Arkema Inc. (e.g., Behavioral Base Safety, SafeStart)
  • Supports and promotes the reporting of all health, safety, environmental, near-miss, accident or injury incidents


  • Bachelor’s degree in chemical/industrial engineering or supply chain operations management is preferred
  • 10+ years of overall relevant experience, including 5-yrs of plant or supply chain planning/scheduling experience preferred
  • DOT experience for hazmat is preferred
  • Minimum of 3 yrs. of supervisory and talent management/development experience required.  Previous experience mentoring/guiding/training other supply chain team members required
  • Excellent skills required in SAP, MRP/ATP knowledge.  Proficiency in MS Office (Excel) required
  • APICS certified is preferred
  • Project management experience strongly preferred
  • Experience developing key supply chain metrics leading to optimum S&OP process performance and understanding/management of working capital
  • Strong communication skills; must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of plant, business, and supply chain.
