Job Title: Tax Accountant – Arkema Inc. Corporate Tax Team
Location:  King of Prussia, PA

 

JOB DIMENSIONS

The Tax Accountant is responsible for the overall monthly sales/use tax assignment schedule for all members of tax department including preparation and review of sales/use tax accounts, property tax filings/payments, annual reports, and other assignments as provided by tax leadership.  This position operates under minimal supervision in sales/use and property tax areas, including tax audits, and under moderate supervision in more complicated state income and franchise tax areas.   
 

KEY ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepares monthly sales/use tax assignment schedule.  Prepares sales/use tax returns.  Reviews sales/use tax accounts for discrepancies.
  • Responsible for all property tax filings handled by outside consultant.  Reviews property tax filings and reports any issues.  Monitors and prepares property tax payments.  Ensures all work of consultant is done timely. 
  • Prepares more complicated state income/franchise tax returns, including estimates and extensions.
  • Prepares various federal income tax adjustments autonomously, including preparation of separate tax returns.
  • Handles all other tax assignments, including reviewing annual reports prepared by tax admin and including more complicated tax audits with little supervision.
  • Participates in other tax projects as requested by tax leadership.
     

CONTEXT AND ENVIRONMENT

  • Little to no travel expected, with exception of a conference or team meeting, where required.
  • Requires work time beyond normal work hours to meet tax deadlines or other project driven deadlines
  • Supports the site HES policy and complies with all regulatory and internal requirements
  • Participates in HES activities provided by site management and Arkema Inc. (e.g., Behavioral Base Safety, SafeStart, etc.)
  • Supports and promotes the reporting of all health, safety, environmental, near-miss, accident or injury incidents
     

REQUIRED EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS /WORK EXPERIENCE

  • BS/BA in Accounting or Finance.  CPA or CPA track a plus
  • 2+ years of tax/accounting experience, including 1 year experience in income tax, sales tax and property tax preparation and review.
  • Experience with SAP a plus
  • Intermediate Excel skills
