The Odorants Delivery Technician is responsible for the safe delivery and transportation of Light Mercaptans (odorants for natural gas/Propane) in tank trucks or other DOT approved containers.  Additionally, the Odorants Delivery Technician is responsible for meeting all regulatory and safety requirements during the transportation and delivery of Light Mercaptans to customers across North America, using Odor-Tech’s Mini-Bulk bobtail trucks.  The Odorants Delivery Technician will be required to make decisions regarding the transportation, delivery, operation, and connection of Odor Tech’s equipment at customer sites across North America.


Primarily Odor-Tech Delivery Technicians leave for a delivery on a Monday morning and return to our Pineville yard by Thursday or Friday to be loaded for the next week.  Delivery Technicians are off most weekends but it is not guaranteed.  Odor-Tech pays for a hotel rooms and meals while on the road.

  1. Meeting Training requirements for the position of Delivery Technician. 
  2. Loading: vessels for delivery of light Mercaptans in assistance with Facility Operators.
  3. Customer Relations: contact prior to transport to ensure proper scheduling and safe access to the customer site can be gained.
  4. Prepare trucks for delivery schedules and ensure all equipment meets DOT guidelines and regulations. Self-Directed activity
  5. Transport light Mercaptans to Customers’ sites according to DOT regulations and Arkema standards.
  6. Deliveries of light Mercaptans
  7. Complete Paperwork for expenses and deliveries.
  8. Participate in driver meetings and discussions

  • Customer’s field personnel (External)
  • State and local Authorities (External)
  • Public Residents throughout the delivery process (External)

  • Use of 100% electronic DOT log books
  • Weekly expense reports
  • Delivery reports to customer service and customers
  • Other paperwork as associated to the delivery process
  • Mechanical activities pertaining to deliveries, scheduling and maintaining records for Odor-Tech logistics equipment
  • Keeping training records up to date
  • Maintaining license and certificates for eligibility to perform delivery tasks
  • Building Customer relationships for Customer’s local technicians

Qualifications / experience required

  • Passing of a pre-employment physical, background check and drug test.
  • Previous experience or training in the chemical industry performing similar work.
  • Current Louisiana CDL license in good standing
  • Mechanical aptitude <span style="background: yellow; font-family: "Arial",sans-serif; font-size: 10pt; mso-highlight: yellow; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-fareast-language: EN-US; mso-bidi-language: AR-SA; mso-bidi-font-family: "Times New Roman";">to maintain assigned bobtail semi-truck, tank, and process equipment.
  • Technical ability to use and understand process valves, piping, and pressure differential.
  • Ability to daily use GPS, laptop computers, tablet devices, cell phones, internet, and mapping software
  • Long distance driving and ability to work outdoors
  • Cold weather and winter driving
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Willingness and ability to perform in a self-directed environment.
