The Senior Account Manager is responsible for managing a portfolio of existing customers and distributors. This individual is also responsible for developing new prospects (direct and in-direct customers) with an objective of achieving growth in volume, margin and overall value to the customer in the sales territory.


This position is remote and we would prefer for the person to be located near or on the West Coast of the United States.


The Senior Account Manager seeks new application development using new or existing products by working with OEMs, Tier 1 or distributor partner. The position reports to the Business/Commercial Director, Sheet business within Altuglas BU.


This position is accountable for volume and margin growth of Altuglas Sheet business for a specific, defined territory.  The Sr. Account Manager will act as the overall point of contact for their customer group, building strong and long-lasting relationship with the direct and in-direct clients. The clients include distributor branches, regional leaders of distribution customer, fabricators and other Tier 1 customers. The Account Manager acts as the key point of contact for their customers with Altuglas and develop a trusted advisor relationship with key accounts and distributors. 


The Senior Account Manager ensures the timely and accurate delivery of material solutions according to customer needs and objectives. Identify new PMMA sheet application as well as share shift projects working directly with distribution branch or with Altuglas Application manager with in the territory.

Develops and executes sales plans, sets up yearly budget for strategic branches/accounts with stretch goals, promoting long term growth goals of customer and the territory.

Proactively develops and facilitates effective partnership and strong relationships with decision makers and influencers at multiple levels with in customers’ organization. Ensure that distributor customers are fully educated in the Plexiglas product on an on-going basis.


Context and Environment

  • Maintains regular two-way communication with corporate management to assure consistent flow of quality information and alignment with business objectives. 
  • Assigned territory management for volume and margin is critical for the overall profitability of the BU.  
  • Travel is required on a regular basis, up to 50% of time.
  • Supports the site HES policy and complies with all regulatory and internal requirements
  • Participates in HES activities provided by site management and Arkema Inc(e.g., Behavioral Base Safety, SafeStart, etc.)
  • Supports and promotes the reporting of all health, safety, environmental, near-miss, accident or injury incidents


Required Education and Experience

  • Ability to understand resin and plastic applications across various marketplaces is a key requirement of the position.
  • Minimum of 10 years sales experience in related fields. Experience can include external sales direct to customer and distribution channels as well as internal sales management via customer service and
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Chemistry or Engineering required.
  • Experienced in managing sales forecast process as a routine part of work activities.
  • Ability to improve variable margin per agreed goals and objectives in conjunction with sales leadership by identifying any sources of lost margin for review and action. 
  • Knowledgeable of business trends and needs within the marketplace. 
  • Experienced with using Microsoft Office (Excel, Power point), and SAP.
  • Knowledge of Salesforce.com a plus.

  • Experience in identifying and pursuing leads to create new business opportunities.

  • Ability to develop a trusted advisor relationship with key accounts, internal customer business partners, and executive sponsors.
  • Strong analytical skills with an ability to identify appropriate pricing standards and financial models.
  • Ability to execute, persist and follow up through challenging customer and financial situations.
